At Vision Scotland, we understand the importance of giving our best to our community – not only with the cutting edge eye care and vision correction services we offer at our clinics across Scotland, but also on the ground with sponsorship and support of charities that reflect that commitment.
Founded in 2013, the Mighty Bovs charity rugby club became affiliated with The Hearts and Balls Charitable Trust in 2020 and now its men’s and women’s 7s and 15s sides compete under the moniker of HBMBs (Hearts + Balls Mighty Bovs) raising funds and awareness to ‘help rugby help its own’.
Vision Scotland came onboard as front shirt sponsor for all four teams at the start of the 2022/3 season. We were especially happy to see this sponsorship celebrated that season in many photos of HBMBs winning women’s 7s as they picked up the top trophies in the Biggar 7s and Edinburgh City 7s, in addition to making a first appearance at the Melrose 7s. 2023 also marked the debut of our brand on the front of the jerseys of the HBMBs women’s 15s side who took on Scottish Police Women that November, underlining the value our sponsorship makes to the ability of the club’s player base to expand like this.
In October 2024, at the start of Hearts + Balls 25th anniversary season, we were thrilled to announce an extension of our partnership with the rugby charity which sees the Vision Scotland brand continue to be carried on the front of the Hearts + Balls MB men’s and women’s team shirts.
Partnering with such a high profile charity not only enables the teams to continue to compete but is paramount in ensuring our brand is communicated to the thousands of supporters who gather to watch these matches across Scotland and further afield, with fixtures scheduled this year in France and Amsterdam. With HBMBs Women’s 7s team also be competing at the Melrose Sevens this year, our brand will also be seen by hundreds of thousands watching the event broadcast live across the globe.
Our partnership has also enabled some of the HBMBs players to get an eyeful of the business behind the logo. In December, we invited George and Charlotte, two HBMBs team members, along to one of our clinics to learn more about their eyesight and discover what happens during laser eye surgery. A case of definitely keeping their eye on the ball!
